Synopsis:
Behind the closed doors of Tetterode in Amsterdam, one of the city’s largest artist communities has lived a quiet life. The residents occupied the building in the 1980s and reshaped it according to principles of self-management and guerrilla architecture. For decades, they preserved a liberated zone where they could paint, sculpt, write and be free. Now, in the autumn of their lives, the community faces a crossroads: the pressure of the commercial real estate market is stronger than ever, and a younger generation must take over. Will there still be space for this unique community in the future of Amsterdam?
Dietro le porte chiuse del Tetterode di Amsterdam, una delle più grandi comunità di artisti della città ha vissuto una vita tranquilla. Gli abitanti hanno occupato l’edificio negli anni ’80 e lo hanno riadattato secondo i principi dell’autogestione e dell’architettura guerrilla. Per decenni hanno preservato una zona liberata dove poter dipingere, scolpire, scrivere ed essere liberi.
