Among the premieres at the 24th edition of the Ischia Global Film&Music Festival (July 12–19, 2026) is “One of Us”, a psychological thriller starring Kit Connor, one of the most sought-after young British actors of his generation. Directed by first-time filmmaker Stefan van de Graaff and shot in Northern Ireland, the film marks a significant step in Connor’s career as he takes on a dark, tension-filled role.
The story unfolds during a funeral, where members of a family begin dying one by one under mysterious circumstances. It falls to the family’s youngest member, played by Kit Connor, to uncover the truth, piecing together the puzzle before his entire family is wiped out. Blending horror, mystery and allegory, “One of Us” creates an unsettling atmosphere of suspense that keeps audiences guessing until the very end.
With “One of Us”, Kit Connor continues an artistic journey marked by constant growth and versatility. Following his global breakthrough in the hit series Heartstopper, which established him as one of the most exciting young actors of his generation, the British star has embraced an increasingly diverse range of roles. Before achieving television fame, he portrayed the young Elton John in the biopic Rocketman alongside Taron Egerton, and also appeared in films such as Little Joe and Ready Player One.
The Italian premiere of “One of Us” further enriches the programme of the Ischia Global Fest 2026, bringing one of the season’s most anticipated independent thrillers to Italian audiences and reaffirming the festival’s commitment to showcasing the next generation of international cinema talent.
