The acclaimed Italian make-up artist, Hollywood powerhouse, and creative force behind unforgettable international masterpieces will lead the upcoming edition of the summer film festival in the Gulf of Naples.
ISCHIA (Naples, Italy) – Cinema excellence, Italian heritage, and international prestige come together in the selection of the new Chairman for the Ischia Global Film & Music Festival. Academy Award winner Alessandro Bertolazzi has been officially appointed to preside over the upcoming edition of the prestigious event on the “Green Island,” long established as a crucial crossroads between Hollywood cinema and the great Italian filmmaking tradition.
Born in Casanova Elvo (Vercelli) in 1958, Bertolazzi perfectly embodies the global spirit of the festival. In 2017, he won the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling for his extraordinary work on the blockbuster Suicide Squad. Throughout a stellar career that began in the late 1980s, he has collaborated with some of the world’s most visionary directors, shaping the look of iconic films such as Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Babel and Biutiful, Sam Mendes’ James Bond installment Skyfall, Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, and David Ayer’s Fury. His impressive resume also includes acclaimed Italian masterpieces like Giuseppe Tornatore’s Malèna and Baarìa, and Matteo Garrone’s Gomorrah.
