Lena e suo figlio Anton vorrebbero deporre dei crisantemi al cimitero, ma questo è stato diviso in due dal recente confine tra Italia e Jugoslavia, e la tomba si trova oltre il filo spinato. Lena chiede aiuto a Miloš, un giovane soldato slavo che deve scegliere tra obbedire agli ordini e ascoltare la propria coscienza.
Lena and her son Anton want to lay chrysanthemums at the cemetery, but it has been divided in two by the new border between Italy and Yugoslavia, and the grave lies beyond the barbed wire. Lena asks Miloš, a young Yugoslav soldier, for help. He must choose between following orders and listening to his conscience.
